Volunteers thinned vegetation, uprooted invasive bird cherry saplings and completed other maintenance tasks Saturday, August 18th, prior to installation of a new, accessible playground in Chugach Foothills Park. Tools and lunch were provided for volunteers. Ribbon cutting will be this fall.

Chanshtnu Muldoon Park named, Phase 2 funded
It’s official! The Anchorage Assembly approved a name – Chanshtnu Muldoon Park – for our community park July 25, 2017. Chanshtnu (pronounced CHANSH-nu), meaning “grass creek,” is the Dena’ina word for Chester Creek, which winds through the park at 1301 Muldoon Road.
The U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service announced a grant of $750,000 to the city toward development of Phase 2 of the park in July. Map: Continue reading
Take the Muldoon Town Square Park Master Plan Survey!
As you may know, Anchorage Parks and Recreation is developing a master plan for the Muldoon Town Square Park on the old Alaska Greenhouse property (SE corner Muldoon Road at DeBarr).
To ensure that future improvements align with the desires of the community, we invite you to participate in a short 5 minutes survey. Survey results will be anonymous and will be used to help inform the development of the master plan.
